West campus

The West campus offers a close-knit learning community dedicated to 21st-century leadership preparation in the style of a small liberal arts college.

Downtown Phoenix campus

ASU@Lake Havasu

ASU’s location in western Arizona features a variety of undergraduate majors in a scenic, small-town setting. Havasu students get personalized attention and have easy access to Lake Havasu City’s outdoor lifestyle.

Housing

At ASU, you’ll live in a residence hall on the campus of your major. ASU’s housing options come with many benefits, including:

Live with your classmates

As an undergraduate student, you’ll live in a residential college on the same floor as others in your program, meaning that from the start of your college experience, you’ll have built-in study partners and friends.

Admission requirements

For undergraduates (bachelor’s)

Freshman students

Freshman students must have a minimum 3.00 GPA from secondary school (4.00=“A”).

Transfer students

Transfer students must have a minimum 2.50 GPA from their college or university.
※Some ASU programs may have higher admission requirements.

English proficiency requirements*

Test scores are required from one of the following:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum 61 (iBT)
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum 6.0
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE):minimum 53
※Note: Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering requires a minimum 79 TOEFL (iBT), 6.5 IELTS or 58 PTE for undergraduate programs.
※Some programs require higher English proficiency scores.

For graduates (master’s)

International applicants must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree or higher, from an officially recognized institution.
Applicants must have maintained a minimum 3.00 GPA in the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of undergraduate coursework (4.00=“A”).
Each academic department has the option of requiring test scores, letters of recommendation and other supporting documents. Type of undergraduate coursework completed may also be considered. Barrett, The Honors College is designed to enhance the ASU undergraduate experience. Think of it as having dual citizenship in both Barrett and ASU. ASU’s International Students and Scholars Center is here to help you maintain compliance with visa regulations, as well as to provide programming and advising to enrich your ASU experience.

Improve your English skills

Global Launch

Global Launch provides English-language training and academic support for international students who wish to thrive in an American college atmosphere. Experience American culture and begin your academic career with the support of international educators.

Intensive English Program

This year-round program provides comprehensive instruction in state-of-the-art classrooms, and academic success activities such as reading circles and conversation groups to maximize reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. After successfully completing the program, many students transfer directly into one of ASU’s degree programs.

Conditional admission

Students who are conditionally admitted have the opportunity to receive a TOEFL waiver by enrolling in and successfully completing the Intensive English Program before beginning their undergraduate studies.

ASU-USA Pathways

This program is for international students interested in obtaining an undergraduate degree at ASU, while receiving additional language and cultural support. After successfully completing the ASU-USA Pathways program, students are guaranteed to have sophomore status in selected ASU undergraduate degree programs.
