Undergraduate Admissions

We offer several routes to admission. With more than 90 bachelor’s degrees, flexible study plans and start dates throughout the year, we’ll help you find the option that’s right for you.
International Year One
International Year One allows you to begin earning credits toward your degree even if you don’t meet the academic and English requirements for direct entry. You’ll receive additional support to help you successfully complete your first year and graduate in the same amount of time as direct entry students. Your Pathway program length is determined by your English language scores.

Entry Requirements

High school diploma, minimum GPA and English language requirements in one of the following tests.

1-Semester Pathway

  • GPA:2.75
  • TOEFL iBT:75 (17+ subscores in reading and writing)
  • IELTS:6.0 (5.5 subscores in reading and writing)
  • IELA:176 (169 subscores in reading and writing)

2-Semester Pathway

  • GPA:2.75
  • TOEFL iBT:60 (13+ subscores in reading and writing)
  • IELTS:5.5 (5.0 subscores in reading and writing)

2-Semester Pathway

  • GPA:2.5-2.75

Graduate Admissions

SLU is home to more than 100 graduate programs, including 13 that are ranked among the top 50 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. There are multiple ways you can begin your graduate-level studies.
Graduate Pathway Program
Most of our Graduate Pathway programs allow you to begin earning credits toward your degree even if you do not meet the direct entry requirements. This program will help build the academic foundation, essential English language skills and GRE test preparation you need to progress to a master’s degree program at a US university. You’ll receive the highest level of support with dedicated academic advisors throughout your program. Your Pathway program length is determined by your English language scores.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2.7-3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale and English language requirements in one of the following tests.

1-Semester Pathway

  • TOEFL iBT 70-83
  • IELTS 6.0
  • IELA 176-185 (169-178 subscores in reading and writing/listening)

2-Semester Pathway

  • TOEFL iBT 60-90+
  • IELTS 5.5-7.0+
