Students Tackle Real Business Problems with Real Clients

When students study marketing at Suffolk’s Sawyer Business School, they get out into the business world and practice connecting with real companies and finding solutions to industry problems through research, analysis, and consultation. Suffolk students have helped local grocery chain Roche Bros. find new ways to engage their customer base and become the preferred catering vendor in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood, near Suffolk’s campus.

Broadcasters Get Their Start at Suffolk

Students in Suffolk’s broadcast journalism program hit the airwaves before they even graduate, reporting for the “Suffolk in the City” program on New England Cable News. They pitch topics, film and edit news stories, and present them with live commentary every Friday from the sidewalk in front of Suffolk’s own on-campus television studio. These are examples of the many ways Suffolk students build out their education with real-world experience in the heart of downtown Boston.

Gain Experience by Giving Back

A passion for serving the community is central to the Suffolk experience. Suffolk students logged more than 30,000 hours of community service in the 2016-17 academic year. Students have gained valuable experience while donating their time and talent to organizations like:
